JAG/Legal Assistance
Verified July 2026- Government Benefits
Free legal advice and services right on your base.
Every installation has a Judge Advocate General (JAG) office offering no-cost civil and some administrative legal support. You can get help with wills and powers of attorney; landlord-tenant disputes; family law questions (like divorce or child custody); consumer issues such as debt collection; and advice on military-specific regulations (like UCMJ or security clearances). They can also notarize documents. Confidential consultations ensure your rights are protected, and JAG attorneys will draft basic legal documents or refer you to off-base specialists when needed.
